Welcome to AMRO Getafe, our new university residence near to the city of Madrid. We are in Calle Alcalde Ángel Arroyo de Getafe, a wonderful area of Madrid that is away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, but close enough to enjoy it to the fullest. Our location is ideal for students, as it is just a 6-minute walk from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Of course, Madrid is not only famous for its size, atmosphere and traditions, but also for its many universities and educational centres, which offer a wide range of study options. Hence why we chose a location just a 6-minute walk from the Getafe campus of Universidad Carlos III and 8 minutes by car or 20 minutes by public transport from the Leganés campus. We are also very close to Universidad Carlos III; the AMRO Getafe residence is a 25-minute train ride from the Fuenlabrada campus of Universidad Juan Carlos, 12 minutes from the UNED, and just a 7-minute car ride from ANEFF.
The centre of Madrid is easily accessible by train, and the Las Margaritas stop is just 10 minutes from the residence. Students only need to watch the train doors open and close four times before they arrive at Puerta del Sol, the epicentre of the capital.
To make it easier for students to get around, the AMRO Getafe residence also has a parking area for cars, motorcycles, scooters and bikes. Students will be able to get from A to B as best suits them. We’ve thought of everything!
This new residence has 216 beds spread over a total of 104 rooms, which are distributed as follows: 8 of them are double studios, for those university students who prefer to share a room; 16 apartments, 4 of them without a terrace, 4 of them superior and 8 of them in the premium category; we also have 20 twodios, which include two private single rooms with a private bathroom and a shared kitchen; 48 single rooms; and lastly, 8 single rooms in the superior category. In addition, eight of the apartments have a terrace, something that many students greatly appreciate. They all have 1.20 m x 2 m beds.

Common areas to suit all tastes
If anything characterises AMRO’s university residences – and Getafe is no exception – it is their wide range of common areas, which are fine-tuned to the needs and tastes of the students. Although these tastes can be very diverse, some things are enjoyed by all young university students when they live under the same roof. For example, a swimming pool; a gym, for keeping fit and clearing the mind; study rooms to prepare projects and exams in a suitable environment; a dining room; and a leisure and gaming area to have fun and spend time together.
There is also no shortage of open and outdoor areas, a major advantage of Getafe, a pleasant area with little in the way of noise, traffic or pollution. Hence, the AMRO Getafe student residence has green areas, interior patios, and ample parking for a variety of vehicles. Just steps away, in just two minutes, you can shop at the LIDL supermarket.
TIME FOR STUDY AND LEISURE
Thanks to the privacy provided by the rooms, whatever their characteristics, and the study room, students staying at the Getafe residence can expect an academic year full of success. Thanks to the coexistence with other people in the same situation, the ease of asking for help, and the proximity of other people studying, daily work and tasks will not be a problem for any of the residents.
In addition, whenever they want to disconnect, catch their breath, or simply celebrate good news, there are many options available at the residence. A game of ping-pong or a bet on pool; there is no better way to start the weekend. This is especially the case for students who are at an age to explore, meet people, go to parties and have a great time in Madrid.
Life in Getafe
Getafe is a city in the Community of Madrid that has more than 185,000 inhabitants, mostly families. It is a city that has been growing in importance throughout the 20th century, and that, thanks to the expansion of the suburbs, the construction of Universidad Carlos III and the expansion of the Madrid metro line (line 12), is an important hub today.
Among the leisure options, Getafe has two large shopping centres where you can happily spend many hours. Nassica is a shopping and leisure centre with many shops, restaurants, services and cinemas. Getafe The Styles Outlet is a huge outlet that has more than 60 stores, for those who enjoy fashion and shopping.
In the surrounding area, there are a couple of interesting sites that might change your focus from Madrid to other areas. These are Aranjuez, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, where you can enjoy the Royal Palace and its gardens; and the Warner Park, perfect for a unique weekend with friends.
There are many options in the area for enjoying free time. Due to its proximity to the city of Madrid, located only 15 km away, any leisure ideas you might come up with can be easily executed.
